Description

This spacious apartment, located in an 1820 building at the back of the property, is open and airy and each and every room has double-paned, sound insulated windows that open onto a courtyard, bathing the rooms with light. Hardwood floors, some containing the original wood, are covered with wonderfully soft and plush area rugs.

Living Room - The large living room is perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing and has ample seating for you and your guests including a couch with down wrapped cushions, oversized Bergere chair, antique suede covered chair, and two leopard covered stools that can be positioned anywhere in the room where extra seating is required. It has two large double-paned, sound insulated windows with silk lined drapes that open onto a grass courtyard. But the best feature is the intimate, fully functioning fireplace with an antique wood mantel from the south of France that was passed down to the family of the previous owners. We loved it so much we kept it intact and we think you will find it as romantic as we do.

Dining Room - The dining room, located off the main hallway to the left of the entry, has a beautiful glass topped table resting on a stone pedestal base with room to seat eight, including the two extra matching chairs from the living room. A lighted niche, with five glass shelves displaying the champagne flutes and wine glasses that are provided for your use, is the perfect setting for an intimate candle lit dinner for two or to simply enjoy your coffee and croissant in the morning as you gaze out the window facing the inner courtyard. This room adjoins and faces the open plan kitchen separated by a granite table bar that obscures the kitchen work area and faces the custom wall painted with a scene of the Eiffel Tower in the Champs de Mars.

Kitchen - The galley style kitchen has all new appliances including a Miele refrigerator-freezer, oven, stove top, dishwasher, microwave, separate clothes washer and dryer, stainless steel sink, coffee/ espresso machine including built in milk steamer for perfect lattes, earth tone granite counter tops which blend perfectly with the soothing taupe walls and creamy white crown molding, surrounded by a backsplash that was completed with hand made tiles from France in shades of eggplant, citron green and raspberry. Serving dishes for eight in a botanical pattern from Villeroy and Boch, wine glasses and champagne flutes, matching place mats, napkins and table linens, a complete set of pots and pans, and every conceivable cooking gadget to make your time in the kitchen relaxing as well as convenient. This kitchen is perfect for entertaining – whether for two or for eight.

What really makes this kitchen special is a full length hand painted mural of the Eiffel Tower and the Champ de Mars by San Francisco artist Barbara Willenborg. Barbara painted this as a gift to Robin for her 50th birthday and is one of the treasured decorated features in the apartment.

Master Bedroom - The master bedroom is oozing with taste and charm and is decorated in a cool, soothing pallet of silver-sage blue and chocolate brown. The antique French bed is the centerpiece of the room. The brand new mattress set is top of the line and is covered in a feather topped mattress cover. Color coordinated bedding from Restoration Hardware includes Egyptian cotton sheets in 600 thread count, matching down blanket and duvet cover. Two large windows are covered in fully lined silk draperies with custom hardware. The bed faces the country French 19th century armoire and contains storage for hanging clothes as well as shelves for folded items. The color TV is enclosed inside the armoire to lend a clean, uncluttered look to the room. An oversized original oil painting of the Provincial countryside hangs on the wall and compliments the overall decorating scheme. An original oil which was procured at the Paris Druot Auction House and hangs over the bed to complete the look.

Master En-Suite Bathroom - The master bathroom is adjacent to the master bedroom. Walls are painted a complimentary but lighter shade of silver blue, the black slate floor and creamy white tiles blend beautifully to complete the sophisticated look. You have the choice of sinking into the deep tub with a soft waterproof pillow to cradle your head, all encased in a frameless glass enclosure or using the wall mounted shower. And the European towel warmer heats your towels to the perfect temperature. Plush terry spa robes are provided for your use as well as an 1850 watt hair dryer, flat iron and electric curlers. And, bien sur, L'Occitaine bath products add that perfect touch to your bathing experience.

Second Bedroom - This romantic bedroom comes complete with a toile fabric-lined overhead bed canopy and is coordinated around the deep taupe walls and creamy crown molding. Lying in your bed at night, with the drapes open, you can see the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower. Sophisticated French bedding for the queen bed in a blue toile fabric by Yves Delorme with feather down comforter and pillows will surround your body with true comfort. The room is bathed in warm light shining through the window that overlooks the garden courtyard. There is a five drawer lingerie chest and two luxuriously thick spa robes provided for your use.

Study - The study is located off the second bedroom. This oversized room contains a beautiful, custom built double-sized Murphy bed that can be pulled down for extra sleeping when needed. There is also a custom-built closet, drawer and lighted dressing area which provides ample closet space for both hanging and folding clothes in addition to storing luggage out of sight.

Second Bathroom - The second bathroom is a full bathroom with a small corner sink and a complete tile enclosed shower with an entire wall in mirrors. The white tile is accented with leopard towels and accessories and highlighted with touches of citron green. The European towel warmer is perfect for warming your towels and there is ample storage area for toiletries. Spa robes, 1850 watt hair dryer, electric curlers and toiletries are provided for your personal use.
