One blocks to the west is the delightful Children’s Carousel on the Champ de Mars, the expansive park which runs from the Eiffel Tower to the Ecole Militaire. In the park, you will discover what most tourists to the tower have not: the many opportunities for wandering, jogging, pony and carousel rides for the kids, or just that special place for spreading out a picnic of local bread, wine and cheese. Everything you need for your Parisian picnic you can purchase around the corner , which offers you a 'French village' of local shops from restaurants, pharmacies, cafes, to butchers, bakers, fresh grocers and everything in between. And everybody in this area speak English!

The Ecole Militaire metro stop is a two-minute walk to the south. A ten-minute walk in the other direction leads to the Pont d’Alma over the Seine and onto the chic boutiques of avenue Montaigne.
From the Pont de l'Alma, you can catch a 'Bateaux Mouches' tour or take a water taxi to the Louvre and Notre Dame. A regional train station just minutes from your door will take you to Versailles.

It are a dozen top-rated restaurants and bistros and many, many more food shops.

There are many wonderful restaurants, cafes, wine bars, food shops, supermarkets, bakeries, patisseries and specialty shops close by. You will find a fabulous fromagerie, numerous patisseries and bakeries, butchers, fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, chocolate, herbs and spices and much more. The rue Cler, one of the most picturesque pedestrianized street of the capital is at a few blocks from the apartment. It offers plenty of space for tiny stores and their shops to spill into the street. It's an ideal environment for this Parisian ritual to survive and for you to explore. The street is lined with all the necessary shops - wine, cheese, chocolate and bread - as well as a bank and post office. The shops of this community are run by people who've found their niche: boys who grew up on quiche, girls who know a good wine. If you see anyone in uniform, they're likely from the Ecole Militaire (military school, Napoléon's Alma mater two blocks away).

You'll have the option of eating out at one of the many great Paris restaurants, or creating your own gourmet meal at home. On top of that, there is nothing like starting out the day with a fresh croissant and cafe creme, followed with Marie Cantin's fantastic cheeses and a fine midday glass of wine.
