The 10 New Michelin-Starred Restaurants in Paris to Look Out For

December 01, 2024
Did you know that the Michelin Guide recently awarded stars to several hotspots in Paris? These exceptional places to eat finally got the recognition they deserved, placing them almost along the same ranks as some of the city's most famous and most expensive restaurants. You probably already know the latter, so this time around, I'm gonna focus on the new members of the exclusive and ever-elusive Michelin-starred club. I've personally been to many of these myself, namely Chakaiseki Akiyoshi, Onor, and Le Tour-Paris. I'm also pretty excited to check out the others on this list but I’m confident they'll be just as good, if not better!

The 10 New Michelin-Starred Restaurants in Paris to Look Out For

Blanc

I haven't been to Restaurant Blanc myself since it's all the way in the 16th arrondissement (and admittedly way above my budget, lol!), but my friend has and he has raved about to me countless times. He loves that it's such a global culinary hotspot, headed by a famous Japanese chef (Shinichi Sato) who's assisted by a great Italian sous chef (Matteo Pioppi) and both of them work with a French sommelier (Michael Lhéritier). My friend is a bonafide connoisseur and he says that the fusion of French and Japanese flavors here is out of this world!

Chakaiseki Akiyoshi

Craving for some more Japanese in Paris? Check out Chakaiseki Akiyoshi in the 15th arrondissement. Now this is a place I've actually been to myself and I can tell you that it truly deserves the Michelin star it recently got. I'm even expecting to earn more in the future. It's just that good! Inspired by the Chakaiseki culinary art, head chef Yuichiro Akiyoshi puts his beautiful culture on full display. Every delicacy, from the Mukozuke sashimi to Saba sushi, will instantly satisfy you at the first bite. I’m already excited to go back!

Datil

The best thing I've heard about Datil is that its food truly is as fresh and as organic as advertised. It's one of those vegetarian places where the ingredients come straight from the farm but you'll barely taste it. The dishes are organic, sure, but with Chef Manon Fleury’s expert culinary touch, you'll still feel as if you're dining in a Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris. Not only will the food here satisfy you, but you'll also come out healthier than when you came in.

Géosmine

Géosmine is chef Maxime Bouttier's first restaurant in Paris and I can already tell that it already deserves the Michelin star it got this year. From what I've heard, Bouttier comes from a family of farmers while one of his uncles also works as a butcher by trade. Hence, the restaurant mostly focuses on meat but pairs them with organic dishes and garnishes to produce otherworldly flavors. I admit, I'm not too keen on tasting anything named “Dairy cow's udder' on the menu but I am intrigued. Especially since it only costs €25.00!

Hémicycle

Hémicycle is another recently Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris that I've been to and I'm happy to report that it's truly all that it's cracked up to be. People were making a fuss that famous Restaurateur Stéphane Manigold was opening a new place on Rue de Bourgogne, so my boss—who's a bit of a socialite himself—just had to check out. I went to eat there with him and it's amazing here. The space? Incredibly chic! The food? Heavenly! The prices? Too high for me but I can tell all the dishes are worth it.

Address: 5 Rue de Bourgogne, 75007 Paris, France

L'Espadon

L'Espadon is located inside the famous Ritz Hotel in Paris and that should already tell you that it deserves to be a Michelin-starred restaurant. Here, chef Eugénie Béziat whips up the most sumptuous dishes, including a barbecued lobster, oysters served with Brousse Cheese, and radish meat combined with peanuts. There are already many great places to eat near Place Vendôme, one of the more affluent neighborhoods in Paris, but L'Espadon, even if it's not inside the Ritz, is a standout!

Le Tour-Paris

Le Tour-Paris is one of the newer Michelin-starred brasseries this year and one of the best on this list. I've also had lunch here myself and you know why? Because it's not that expensive! Now, it's not exactly cheap here, but I could at least afford to eat here when I feel like I deserve a treat. And that's exactly what I got when I went to this chic hotspot in the 1st arrondissement. I ordered the Mackerel in escabeche with herb-infused jelly and it was, in a word, divine! It only cost me €32.00 and it was the best money I spent that weekend.

Address: 8 Quai du Louvre, 75001 Paris, France

Maison Dubois

Located inside Hotel Balzac, Maison Dubois boasts three Michelin stars and it shows. Those who've told me that they've eaten here all raved about it, calling it one of the best restaurants in Paris. Now, I apologize that I can't confirm this myself as I haven't dined here yet (the keyword is yet!) but I trust what my colleagues have all told me. Their most suggest dishes? The Bouchot Mussels, the John Dory fish poached in seafood broach, and the Candied Trout. Evidently, seafood reigns supreme here.

Onor

Chef Thierry Marx only recently opened Onor on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and it already earned a Michelin star this year. If that won't convince you to eat here, then what will? Perhaps if I told you that I've also dined here myself and can happily confirm that it truly is good here. The place offers a seasonal menu so what I ate may not be available when you go here but if it is, get the Amuse Bouche and Tartelette au Chocolat! You'll thank me for this!

Address: 258 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris, France

Sushi Yoshinaga

Here's another Japanese place for this last one. Sushi Yoshinaga is located right by the Opéra district and is one of the best places in the city to get sushi. Each bite-sized delicacy is a swirl of flavors in your mouth. The rice's stickiness is just right, the fish is always fresh, and other ingredients do their part well in crafting a harmonious flavor. My mouth is already watering just writing about it! I've been here too and it's one of the best places I've eaten in this past year.
