As a vintage toy collector, living in Paris is the ultimate dream! Not only is it a great city overall, but it's a place that has always appreciated anything vintage. Since I moved here before the pandemic, my toy collection grew from a couple of baubles that decorate my desk to filling up two Ikea shelves! That's how the city helped me grow my collection and further love my hobby. As for where I buy my vintage toys, I usually go to Lule Berlu on Rue du Grand Prieuré, Le Bazar des Rêves on Place du Commerce, and Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen.

If you're a vintage collector like me, you need to know about these cool vintage toy shops in Paris. Not only do they sell the old goodies we used to play with, but they've also gone the extra mile to ensure that they're still pristine and well-preserved.
Rêves de jouets
I'll start with Rêves de jouets, which is in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine in the Paris suburbs. Though it's a fair distance away from the city, I guarantee that all that travel time is worth it. I consider this one of the best vintage toy stores in Paris since they have a pretty extensive collection. From model toy trains to classic cars, these are the toys that our parents and grandparents played with. They may not have a lot of branded toys, but the ones you'll see here are still priceless. I always get a bang for my buck here!Where: 99 Rue des Rosiers 73, 93400 Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine
Lule Berlu
If you prefer to go to a store that's still in the city, then my first recommendation would be Lule Berlu on Rue du Grand Prieuré in the 11th arrondissement. This is right smack in the middle of the city so it's fairly easy to get to no matter where you're coming from. As for why I love it, simple: it has all the classic toys I want. There are Star Wars, Power Rangers, and even Jurassic Park toys here, almost as if the shop is a treasure chest from the 80s and 90s. What's not to love?Where: 2 Rue du Grand Prieuré, 75011
Dan Toys
I got the idea to start collecting vintage toys from a good friend who loves collecting vintage toy cars. He was one of my first friends in Paris and to this day, he's still crazy about his collection. If you're like him and you love vintage toy cars too, then I'm sure you'll love Dan Toys on Rue de la Croix Nivert. The shop is all about toy cars, from famous brands like Hot Wheels to lesser-known but still awesome labels. The best part is that they're all high quality, almost to the point that I kinda want to get into the toy car game myself!Where: 115 Rue de la Croix Nivert, 75015
Le Bazar des Rêves
Le Bazar des Rêves is admittedly devoted to vintage toy cars too but it still has a few other knick-knacks to offer. I will never forget the toy robot I got from here last year and it's still one of the gems of my collection. And you know what? Its gimmicks still work too! The toy was first sold in the late 1970s but it still works as if it was brand new. Of course, you can't forget about the vintage toy cars here too. They're all so colorful and pristine, just looking at them will take you back to mid-20th-century America!Where: Place du Commerce 19 H, 75015
Au Plat d'Etain
My friend introduced me to Au Plat d'Etain on Rue Guisarde a couple of years ago and I've gone back there about 20 times since then. It's the best figurine store in the city, so much so that the 'toys' they sell here don't even look and feel like playthings. They're high-quality enough to fit in any bonafide collector's vintage toy collection, especially if they're into figurines. Au Plat d'Etain has all the classics too, such as soldiers, medieval knights, Victorian people, and even famous people. Some are more of a gag but still fun to have in your collection or even just as a cute knick knack in your home.Where: 16 Rue Guisarde, 75006
Les Drapeaux de France
Les Drapeaux de France is another awesome figurine store in Paris that any toy collector shouldn't overlook. It's right by Place Colette in the 1st arrondissement so it'll take a bit of an effort to find, but it's worth all the effort! This place is a treasure trove of figurines, from classic toy soldiers of any era (Regency, World Wars, etc.) to beloved characters like Tintin and Mickey Mouse. It may not have that diverse of a selection, but every piece is of the highest quality. You can still see that the artisans who crafted these toys gave it their all when they made them.Where: Place Colette, 75001
Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen
Now, if you truly want to dig and dig and dig for rare vintage toys you just have to have in your collection, I suggest you go back to Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine! Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen is one of the best places to find vintage toys, specifically the rarer and more unique playthings. It's a flea market, after all, so many people sell their pristine secondhand items here. My friend who collects vintage Barbie dolls goes here every month, and she always leaves with at least a doll or two. I got a couple of my Marvel action figures from here too, and they're some of the gems in my collection.Where: 110 Rue des Rosiers, 93400 Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine
